Common Goldeneye
(Bucephala clangula)

For monitoring purposes the national population has been divided into two populations. The observed increase in Common Goldeneye numbers has occurred mainly in the western population while the population in eastern Canada has remained stable. Detailed information on the population status of waterfowl species is available in the Population Status of Migratory Game Birds in Canada report (summarized version).
