Population status

Evening Grosbeak
(Coccothraustes vespertinus)

The Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) covers most of the Evening Grosbeak's breeding population in Canada and is the best source of population status data. BBS results show a large, long-term decrease with over 85% of the population lost since about 1970. BBS results for North America suggest that the continental population has also shown a large decrease, although the precision of this result is low.
