Population status

Lazuli Bunting
(Passerina amoena)

The Lazuli Bunting is best monitored In Canada by the Breeding Bird Survey in Canada, which indicates a large increase in population since about 1970. At the regional level, two Bird Conservation Regions (BCRs) in which the species occurs have reasonably reliable results; populations in both the Great Basin and Northern Rockies BCRs show an increase since 1970. BBS results from throughout North America indicate little change in the continental population since the mid-1960s.
