Eastern Bluebirds are well monitored in Canada by the Breeding Bird Survey (BBS), the results of which indicate a marked increase in population since about 1970. The population shows a fairly consistent, though fluctuating, increase over the course of the survey throughout its range in Canada. BBS results from throughout North America also demonstrate an increase at the continental level. With an increasing population, the Eastern Bluebird is at an acceptable level relative to its national population goal (see Canada graph below).
