National harvest survey data query
The National Harvest Survey (NHS) data query enables users to retrieve hunting, harvest, age, and sex data for all migratory game bird species found in Canada. These data are derived from harvest surveys run annually by Canadian Wildlife Service. Currently, we only provide on-line access to data that have been edited and analyzed. A general description of survey design can be found on the National Harvest Survey design page.
The NHS Database can be queried according to the following three categories of data:
- General harvest data (such as the estimated number of successful goose hunters or harvest estimates for snipe)
- Harvest estimates by waterfowl species (such as harvest estimates for American Black Duck or Canada Goose)
- Age ratio data
