Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions of section 73 of the Species at Risk Act permit no. SARA-PYR-2010-0148 is issued.
Other type of activity necessary or beneficial to the species
The proposed activity involves restoration of the lower end of an unnamed creek in the Columbia Valley below Vedder Mountain on DND property. The location proposed for stream restoration is downstream of the areas in which the SAR have been observed, therefore the risk of negative impacts to the SAR during restoration activity is low. The restoration work will increase habitat for species and stabilize the flow of the creek by providing appropriate native riparian vegetation.

- Species at Risk Act
Location of Activity (province, territory or ocean):

Consistent with Section 73 (3) (a-c), the proponent has successfully demonstrated that all reasonable alternatives to the activity have been considered, all feasible measures will be taken to minimize the effect of the activity on the species, and the activity will not jeopardize its survival or recovery. Only qualified personnel, experienced in the identification of the target SAR and familiar with the specific locations, will conduct these activities. Although the SAR are unlikely to be found in the area proposed for restoration, restoration activity will cease if SAR are found in the restoration area.
